Pitch- Aiden is a miserable young man as he is colour blind and sees the world in different shades of red. He is then given the opportunity to cure his condition with experimental contact lenses but a colour high blinds his judgement and mentality.
Synopsis-
Aiden is a miserable young man who is colour blind, he sees most of the world in different shades of red which represents his different emotions for the things he sees, an example of this is if he sees a person that he doesn't like he views them in a darker red. Unable to see what everyone else sees and share their experiences he becomes extremely depressed and upset and begins developing a hatred for the colour red. One day whilst reading the local newspaper Aiden discovers that a team of scientists have been creating experimental contact lenses that cure colour blindness temporarily, allowing him to finally witness the world and experience life with colour.
He volunteers to become a test subject for the scientists by applying online and is quickly accepted due to his unique condition, he travels to the research facility and after a few tests Aiden is presented with a pair of contact lenses designed for him to test. The contact lenses work perfectly and Aiden is able to see every colour, overwhelmed with delight he journeys around the city and views the beautiful world.
The contact lenses however has an expiry date that Aiden discovers on the last day of use, however he ignores the expiry date and continues to use wear them as he does not want to let colour go so soon and is greedy to experience more. The next day when he puts the contacts on they then merge with Aiden's eyes resulting in him being unable to remove them at all, the merged contacts then begin to aggravate his eyes and becomes increasingly itchy and painful. Aiden seeks aid but the scientists are unable to help him at all due to the merging of the contacts and eyes.
Not knowing what to do Aiden returns home late at night but cannot sleep and is kept awake by the pain of his eyes that gradually worsen throughout the night. Aiden then finally falls asleep later that night as he is watching a documentary about travelling around the world, as he shuts his eyes to sleep they become completely shut rendering him blind for life. He wakes up the next morning unable to open his eyes and begins to cry on his couch.
At the end Aiden reminisces about all the colours that he witnessed but focuses particularly on the colour red that he always used to see, the colour he used to hate, he explores the importance of the colour and looks at what it represents in the world. Aiden reflects on the meaning of colour and what red meant to him, how it was his only way to access the real world from this he realizes the importance of colour and how dangerous greed can be.
